Bar Mace - Simple & Effective

A Bar Mace

Would you want to be hit with it? The remains of a bar mace of this type were found in the River Thames, but they were in use all across Europe. Little finesse was needed for this brutal mace, and a warrior strong enough to wield it could crush helms and break swords with the heavy blows it could deliver. Made from four bars of steel with a wood and leather grip and a large steel pommel to help balance it, this is indeed an awesome weapon. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. $5.00 additional Shipping & Handling charge with item.

* Overall: 28-1/2"
* Blade: 20" x 2" x 3/16"

Black Medieval Boots

Black Medieval Boots
  • These are excellent short boots
  • Premium grade leather
  • As for a time frame, it's about 700 A.D.
Finding accurate footwear has been one of the more difficult problems to face the medieval weapons enthusiast or re-enactor. However, in the past few years we are proud of the fact that we have been able to offer period footwear. On a colleague's visit to Leeds to check out the museum, they found some medieval boots on display and had them copied. The originals were made on a common last, and as a result were neither right nor left. But our boots have both a right and a left.

15th Century Longsword

15th Century Longsword
  • Overall: 45-1⁄2"
  • Blade:
  • 36-1⁄2" long
  • 1-13⁄16 " wide
  • 3⁄16 " thick
  • Wt: 3 lbs/4 oz
  • Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®
  • Includes scabbard
  • Can be sharpened
The longsword, often called a hand-and-half sword, saw a great deal of service as a battle ready weapon of war, but was also employed a great deal as a civilian medieval weapon of self-defense. Coupled with a dagger, the longsword was an excellent defense against robbers, thieves, footpads, assassins and even some of the robber bands that might roam the countryside. A good serviceable point allowed the longsword to be used for thrusting, and a medium weight allowed it to be used easily and carried with equal ease. This weight of a longsword also allowed it to be used with one hand with a dagger in the other. But when needed, it could be gripped with both hands for a very powerful cut.

The longsword pommel and guard are complied with steel. The grip is a solid wood wrapped with leather and wire.

In our professional opinion, this is a beautiful and very functional longsword.
